Waterfall on Pohnpei

Hey guys,

I thought I'd share a few more pictures since I have some. This last weekend we went to a new waterfall, and it was also my 21st birthday! I'm starting to feel old... Yes, I know, it's not that old, but it seems a little crazy how fast time is flying to me! Anyway, Sabbath we had a great time hiking through the forest, swimming in a beautiful waterfall, and just enjoying the beautiful scenery, and Sunday we had a party--ate lots of delicious food and watched a movie. I had a really good birthday even if it was away from home. Got to talk to family for a bit, and everyone here made it special as well.

Water Buffalo Another week has started and is already almost half over, and I can't believe that we're at the end of January! A few more months and I'll be headed for home. This week is going alright, but I feel like my kids are getting a little out of control in some aspects--just not listening as well. It's hard--I remember being just like them when I was their age. Didn't listen--but I always got my work done and handed in on time and made good grades. That would be the big difference here--most of them don't care so much about grades or if their stuff is late. It gets really frustrating when I have 10 kids with 5 missing assignments a piece! And right now there are a few of those. On the porch Can't chase them down for the life of me, they always just leave. I guess I need to start making some phone calls, but every time I say I'm going to do it I forget until it gets to be too late. And I'm kind of afraid to do it... I don't know why, but talking to parents is a little intimidating when I don't even know them! And I know half of them don't care any more than their child so what's the point? I had basketball practice today and that was horrible. Half the team didn't show up and most of the ones that did gave a halfhearted effort at the drills and just didn't seem to care much at all--it's really discouraging and I just want to say forget it to the team. That's just the thing though... they just don't care. Heidi is helping me now and she said that the volleyball team was the same way. If they don't care then why should I?? Guess I have to stick with it though.

Birthday Cake Well here are a few pictures for you all. The first is of the waterfall we went to on Sabbath, the second is a water buffalo we saw on our way out that was pulling two children in a little handmade cart! Pretty neat! Never seen that before. The last two are from my birthday--held at one of the guys' apartments this time. Hope you're all staying warm wherever you are!

Love,

Lindsey
